Port St. Lucie is home turf for First Aid Air Conditioning, and we install new central AC systems, heat pumps, and high-efficiency variable-speed equipment across town every week. Family-owned, Florida-licensed, and over a decade of experience installing AC in Port St. Lucie's full range of homes.
From Tradition and Saint Lucie West to River Park, Tesoro, PGA Village, The Reserve, Lake Charles, Castle Pines, the Indian River Estates area, the older neighborhoods east of US-1, and the newer master-planned communities. Every install gets sized to the specific home, not just the square footage.
The single biggest mistake we see on AC installs is sizing. An oversized AC short-cycles, runs up the power bill, and never properly pulls humidity out of the air. An undersized AC runs constantly, can't keep up on the hottest days, and wears out faster. Manual J load calculations are how it's done right. We measure the actual cooling load of your home: square footage, ceiling height, insulation rating, window size and exposure, attic ventilation, and infiltration. Then we size the system to that calculated load, not a rule of thumb.
Central AC systems: standard single-stage, two-stage, and variable-speed systems from major brands. Variable-speed runs quieter, dehumidifies better, and uses meaningfully less power than single-stage equipment, especially in Florida humidity.
Heat pumps: increasingly the right choice for Florida because they handle the few cold weeks we get each winter without needing a separate furnace. Modern variable-speed heat pumps cool more efficiently than older single-stage AC and provide free heating capacity in the bargain.
High-efficiency variable-speed systems: the highest tier of residential equipment. Higher upfront cost, but lower power bills, quieter operation, better humidity control, and longer equipment life.
Load calculation and equipment sizing. Manufacturer warranty registration on the new unit (typically 10 years on parts). 1-year workmanship warranty from us on the labor. Permit pulling and inspection coordination where required. Removal and proper disposal of the old system. New outdoor condenser placement on a level concrete pad with appropriate clearance. New indoor air handler installation. Refrigerant line set, either new or flushed and reused if the existing lines are sound. New electrical disconnect to current code. Smart thermostat installation and configuration. Full system commissioning: refrigerant charge to manufacturer spec, airflow measurement, electrical readings, and verification that the system runs through full cycles correctly.
A standard residential install takes four to eight hours on site. For homes with complex ductwork, multi-zone systems, or coastal protection needs, expect a longer day or a two-day install. We work in one to two-day windows so you're not without cooling for any longer than necessary.
A standard central AC replacement in Port St. Lucie runs roughly $6,500 to $11,500 installed depending on tonnage, efficiency rating (SEER2), system type, and any duct modifications needed. Heat pump replacements run $7,500 to $13,000 installed. High-efficiency variable-speed systems run higher. We provide a free written, itemized quote after an in-home assessment.
Hearth financing is available on qualified projects with loans up to $250,000, funding in one to three days, no prepayment penalty, no home equity required, and no impact on your credit score to see options. Most homeowners use Hearth to spread the install cost over manageable monthly payments.
